Scarlet Mist

Merry meet! I am Scarlet Mist. I'm not one to exactly be great at telling everyone my life story, but here it goes:

My hometown is kinda small, but not small enough to where everyone knows each other. 

As a human, I was a girl who was socially awkward (and still is, at some points) and didn't have many friends. However, I played viola throughout part of my life, and that's what got me going. Even though I'm on a long hiatus from it, I feel like it calls me every now and then.

Anyway, it was Christmas night when I was Marked. I just returned home from a family gathering when a tall female approached me. My mom and dad got out of the car to ask the woman what she was doing at our house. My dad told my brother to stay in the house and wait for them. As for me, the woman stared at me and placed her fingertips onto my forehead. The touch burned like a fire in a fireplace. I tried to resist the pain, but it was difficult. Then, she said the fateful words:

"Briana Swanson, Night has chosen thee; thy death will be thy birth. Night has called to thee; hearken to Her sweet voice. Your destiny awaits you at the House of Night."

My parents were shocked to hear it from her, but they understood that I had to start a new life. They took me to the Cleveland House of Night the next day, where I studied for four years and gained my affinities of air and music. I also chose the name Scarlet Mist because I liked the feeling of mist, and I like red. Yes, I contacted my family every day and night. Sometimes, I'd visit them, and that's how I met my consort. Four years after my studies, I became a music professor, and now I'm a professor here at the Star Lake House of Night. As for my consort, he loves me and supports me, despite the fact that I'm a vampyre and he's a human.
